DRZ400E Rear Shock Removal

Recommended Posts

Allright, who has got the best way to remove the rear shock. I should have researched this last time, as I ended up pulling off the tank and pivoting up the subframe. Compared to my KTM, this is a chore. Can it be pulled out the bottom once the links are removed? Looking for an easier way, as my new rear spring (5.7) is a bit stiff for my liking and I may go back to stock.

Yes the shock will come out from underneath, the muffler up to mid pipe has tow be removed, and the bike held high enough to allow the rear wheel to drop down.

With the exhaust removed, it can be snaked out the right side.
