cleaning a linkage on a dirtbike

Recommended Posts

what linkage? theres a few sets of linkage on a dirtbike..

if you mean the cables, then i'd use brake cleaner, followed by white-lithium grease to lube em up..

if you mean the rear shock linkage, you're better off taking them apart and re-packing the bearings..

You can use carb cleaner or brake cleaner. I woudn't use wd-40 since it isn't a degreaser. Then re-pack with grease, keep track of them needle bearings they are easy to lose.

Yes I ment the shock linkage. ones I taken it apart can I clean the

inside (bearing etc...) with wd40 or carb cleaner or white peyrolium.?

And after grease ir.

brake cleaner or any non-residue cleaner will work..

then re-pack with marine grade grease, i.e. it won't come off with water :smashpc:
