Just to throw something out there.

A 1998 CR250 is designed for a motocross track, not really as a single track or technical riding trail bike.

If you really want to get a bike to ride single track or technical trials, get a bike designed to do that.

It's not meant for a single track or technical riding trail bike? Here's some Kauai guys on yz's and cr's. The second vid is me and my cr 250. I think my cr is around the best trail bike around... a purpose built trail bike is good of course but that doesn't mean a mx bike doesn't work well. As far as a clutch goes a tusk clutch kit is cheap and works great for what $60 or so. It also comes with all steel clutch plates which add a little flywheel weight and cut out the aluminum shavings in oil. The kit comes with springs steel and fiber plates. It's an unreal deal .

My bad I think it's even cheaper.

If your looking for just friction plates...I agree go with the tusk ones. They last all year harescrableing no probs. If your looking for a great clutch for running single track go buy the rekluse pro. Well worth the money spent. 2T MX bike is my bike of choice for the woods also. I have purpose built woods bikes but still choose my YZ250 for woods racing.
