Just picked up my 07 KX250F today!

Recommended Posts

Whats up yall, I'm new to Kawasaki and 250F's as of today. I just got rid of my RMZ450, and have always rode Suzuki all my life. The reason I got a 250 and got rid of the 450 is because I've started racing in the SORCS & SETRA events. These are all enduro and hare scramble events in the South Eastern part of the country. I live and ride in the northern part of GA, so its mountainous, rocky, washed out, tight trails and a 450 beats me to death and wears me out in this terrain, so I've decided to drop down in motor. I'm glad I did because after riding this bike, I defiantly made the right choice. I can ride it alot faster on the tight trails and man handle it easier. Heres a few picks of her, tell me what you guys think and what I should do to set her up for this kind of woods racing. Whats the gearing everyone's using for the woods? Is all the clutches hard to pull? What 4stroke oil are yall using? Spark plugs? Its going to my mechanic tomorrow to get suspension & jetting. I'm gonna do bark busters, front breaks, chain, sprockets, skid plate, grips, all new fluids, soft step seat, a bunch of works connection colored parts. graphics and some numbers:ride:

looks real clean, congrats man! I wish some of my friends would listen, they all went from 250s to 450s and despite being beat by people on 250s swear they 'use almost all the power'... they don't leave 3rd, at very tops. heh true they have more power, but its useless if you don't get to use it all! I love my 250s (and even 125s, soooo fun) and being 5'2, 140 i doubt ill ever purchase a 450 for myself.. I didn't even like riding my friends much, too wearing on me.

Hope you shred it up with your new 250 bud!

Thanks bro, yea man, if you watch GNCC races, there's pros on 250fs hanging with Josh Strange and those guys on 450s!! Its not about pony's in the woods, the smaller bike is alot easier to ride fast and handle in the tight stuff. Period. And yea, I could never ride my RMZ to its full potential in the tight stuff, it was such a tractor!! Fun, don't get me wrong, but riding that now this, man it doesn't wear me out, beat me up, jerk me around, none of that, but I'm still going fast if not faster, which I'm sure I'll be after I get used to it. Just went to the shop today, got $600 worth of stuff to set it up for the woods and my comfort, and Thursday my mechanic is taking it in to do the suspension, jetting, brakes, and to fix a few small things. I've always been against 250fs, I thought they didn't have enough power, blah blah etc. But after riding a kxf, shit, it has plenty for what I need it for, and now I get it, how to go fast in the woods without having to race a tractor lol
