Breakin w/aftermarket Pipe.

Recommended Posts

A couple of weeks ago I picked up a 2012 300XC. Work has been to busy for me to get in her maiden ride. That and I was waiting on some mods.

I ordered a FMF Turbine II because I have to run a spark arrestor at the local riding spot. Should I set the bike up any differently with the aftermarket pipe?

The bike is going to be used for single track mostly. I'm also going to be running Motul 710 after reading good things on here about it. I've got a liter of Motul 800 I was thinking about using for the first few tanks.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. I haven't had a 2 stroke in years.

This is my first KTM. I hope there is good as all the hype is.:smashpc:

Welcome to the KTM club. That is a fine bike you picked up and I am sure you are going to love it. That FMF sparky will not cause you any issues at all. I've noticed many new bikes have an off idle bog and adjusting the air screw often fixes this. Being a new bike you may find the need to re-jet but for now just go ride and break it in. You can make the call if fine tuning is needed after a ride or two.
