---Lower Link Length Chart---

Recommended Posts

Honda calls the link a "Rod". I don't know the length of the XR400 link but I have the lengths of 4 other other candidate links:

84-85 XR200R/250R 52470-KF0-010 84.1mm

86-88 XR200R 52470-KT0-670 81.6mm

86-95 XR250R 52470-KN5-000 84.5mm

96-04 XR250R 52470-KCZ-000 79.9mm

A longer link will lower the bike.

The longer link lowers the bike and lowers the spring stiffness.

A shorter link will raises the bike and increases the spring stiffness.

The stiffness change is caused by the change of the ratio rate.

The change in length is about 3x. 4mm = about a 12mm change.

So far here is a part numbers to application list and which one are missing. :smashpc:

84-85 XR200R 52470-KF0-010 84.1mm

84-85 XR250R

83-84 XR350R

83-84 XR500R

93-00 XR650L

86-95 XR250R 52470-KN5-000 84.5mm

85 XR600R

96-04 XR250R 52470-KCZ-000 79.9mm

96-04 XR400R 52475-KCY-670 Length needed

86-87 XR600R 52470-MK2-770 Length needed

chuck4788, Thanks for your accurate measurements. 👍

If any one can help complete the list post up :busted:

Aftermarket lowering link lengths would be great too. 🤣

Thanks. 🤣

Which bike ?

The kouba link for the XR650R is about 4-1/2" or 114.3mm. (Not exact, but close)

Late to the party that's me, well almost with a new to me (2-16) 85 XL350R project "save me" bike. Part of its life in the dirt by the PO without an air filter. Have plans of lowering the suspension for street bike duty with street tyres plus adding an 84 XR engine from carbs to muffler to it.

85 XL350R link measured 84.40 mm long, CL to CL, call it a 84-85 XR200 of 84.1 or a 86-88 XR200 (81.6 mm) as posted above.

Purchased used 650L KoubaLink lowering link, I pressed in new bearings, end caps and "O" rings which measured 95.25 mm CL to CL long.

Told by KoubaLink "the 650L link will not fit a 85 XL 350R", wrong it will once I milled out .008" deeper into the radius of each side of the "yoke" towards the "yoke" bottom pocket. The link end caps now slide in deep enough for bolt alignment. before the caps begin to pinch the "yoke" radius.

Stupid question, how much will this lowering link lower the XL 350R's rear suspension, talking 10.80 mm longer link?????? Raise the fork tubes up the triple clamps the same amount.

Carl.....~~=o&o>......
