70 250 cross

Recommended Posts

Not sure if this is the right forum, seems kinda lame to have two different forums for a smaller site like the Husky forums, so I figured a lot more of you Husky guys will be in the 4 stroke section. So anyway I just picked me up a 1970 250 Cross that I'm going to restore to original, its still got the original Trelleborg front tire and alum. front fender, everything is there, no dents in the gas tank or exhaust it just looks lke its been sitting outside for 30 years. I'm 65 and used to race a 70 and 71 so I'm quite familure with them.

I've done some searchs here and have been in touch with John at Vintage Husky but still have few question for you Husky old timers like me. John says the number plates for the 70 250 Cross were green but the bike which apparrs all original has the remnates of yellow plates also he said the grips were black I'd swear they were gray Maguras. Also can I still get a Trelleborg rear tire to match the front and anyone have the original gray cables with the little lubers on them, ? Its going to be a fun winter project and it sure brings back a lot of great memories. Remember I was the one that said the Husky Forum had the most helpful and nicest guys in all of Thumpertalk land so you guys better live up to your reputation:worthy:

Yellow plates were for "Open Class" bikes.

Black was the color of the OEM grips.
