nicasel honing

Recommended Posts

I wasn't able to find much in the search feature, I want to know if I can use a regular hone with blades if I don't have a ball hone.? I also only saw in the manual that they recommend using 600 grit sand paper to break up any glaze in cylinder. Any positive input would be appreciated.

since I own a 3 blade stone hone and too cheap to buy a ball hone what I do is wrap a scotch bright pad around the three stone hone making sure no stone is exposed and scrub away with a liberal dose of wd40

Id advise against a 3 stone hone beacuse it will snag on the ports.

Id go the sand paper route if you dont want to buy a flex hone. Use lots of oil.

I think I'll try this instead. The Service Manual doesn't go into too much detail about this whole procedure.
