beating a dead horse? CR500AF

Recommended Posts

So I have been thinking of selling my 2001 CR250R and buying a CR500R of some year. But, I am considering doing a frame conversion on my 2001. Most of the information I have been able to pull up on the internet talks about gen-1 frames and or gen-3 and up using CRF frames. Not much covered on the gen-2 frames and I read somewhere that they are somewhat easy to do a swap on. I looked at bannedcr500riders.com but im only coming up with this http://bannedcr500riders.com/board/library/CR5001RevC-kit,conversion,aluminumframed.pdf not much good to me because it is for a gen-1 and it doesnt make sense to me 👍

So I am wondering if somebody could please direct me to some information that will help me with this potential project, I am limited with what i can do here as i dont have much access to machines or welders. Wondering if this is even possible, I want as much info as you have on the CR500AF build, motors that work best or easiest and what ALL will I need to make this work, as to my understanding I will only need a CR500 engine, my frame modded to fit the engine, and a pipe to clear the AF? Is that all? Thanks for the help! :ride:

Get with Paul @ Stoffers Racing

or GTSF:

He does great work.

Other than that, join CR500riders.com or BannedCR500riders.com and read up.
