It was sold to me as a "NOS Answer" silencer, but on the silencer it says VFC systems or something lke that?

Is this the same Answer that do MX Clothing?

Yes. It is (or was) the same company that makes the clothing. Back in the '80's and early-mid 90's, they made a lot of silencers and spark arrestors. I have several for my various KDX's. They are indeed very well made. I like it better than the FMF and Pro Circuit silencers / spark arrestors for the KDX250.

There is also a VFC on there. Variable Frequency Core? I think that is it.
