2006 Honda CRF250x - stalling.....

Recommended Posts

I have had this bike overhauled again and again and the damn thing works great then dies. If you wait 5-7 minutes it starts back up and goes for a few minutes then dies off. I have had the jet replaced and the mechanic seems to know what he is doing but he cant seem to figure it out. Today - I rode the bike for an hour and it worked great..... then it just started to putter out and would not start for about 5 minutes. I got it started - a few minutes later and dead again. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Ya sure he's a "mechanic"? Double check the valve clearance then

have him heat test the pulse coil ,if he dosn't know what that means,i'd get another mechanic..

Vapor lock

Bad gas cap vent

How does the spark plug look?

compression test immediately following the stalling.

And as the previous post states check the ignition system.

The difficulty is you need to check these items when the bike is exhibiting the symptoms not when it's running good.
