That is a super easy fix. I had mine go out after 2 years I am surprised yours went out with low hours. Just look at the seals when taking them out and put the new ones in the same as the old and you should be done.

managed to get a seal from local auto parts store in town

as the nearest dealer is 1.5 hours south of here - the great white north !!

gasket was ok - so reused it with a light smear of silicone

seems ok now - but no reason for the leak ? - shaft was perfect

the old seal was ok to look at - no tears or cuts - why the leak - don't know

hope this helps anyone else having same problem

so... it did fix the leak right?

It on only happens when they set too long it just likes to corrode around the shaft seal area. If I don't ride every week I at least run the bike and do a rip up and down the street.

no corrosion at all - just wiped it with a rag and pushed new seal in - easy

Looks like a crappy seal ? - or just bad luck

one fork seal is seeping a bit too - never had luck with dirtbike fork seals either !

I got 2 seasons/2400 miles outta my stock fork seals...in muddy, silty, wet, gritty conditions no less. Just changed them out a month ago...All Balls...no probs so far.

about the same as mine at 3500 km - just broken in by my standards

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I got a set of "all balls" bearings and seals for a buddy's honda xr400 and

was not impressed at all : the bearings were KRL - used these on my 600 wheel bearings and

they only lasted 1 year - ***

but the seals were total crap - not even the right shape or size ?

the inside hole was so big it would not center on the steering stem

as the lower bearing got pressed on - no excuse for this crap !!!

and they gave me 2 seals the same - the top seal is suposed to go over

the neck not inside to let water in --- ***

NO ALL BALLS CRAP FOR ME !!!
