I have a question,

I bought my son a 2001 Suzuki JR 50. The guy I bought it off of didn't run the bike for three years. I drained all of the fluids, replaced the filters and put a new spark plug. My problem is when the bike is idling it just stars revving up and I have to turn it off. Any ideas of what's going on? Thanks guys....

Sounds like its running really lean. I would say a dirty pilot jet. (there may be 2 pilot jets on top of each other)

clean the carb, make sure any vent tubes are not plugged.

also check the routing of the throttle cable. May be a little tight causing it to rev out. But I would definately start at the carb. And I hope you washed the crap out of that gas tank ALOT!!!!!

I would consider just replacing the jets if they are that bad. Not a whole lot of money to save the aggrevation.
