Is it time for rings soon?

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

I got my '11 Ktm 200 xcw in may brand new. I already have 115 hrs on the bike. It runs great, starts first kick most of the time. Haven't had any problems with it yet. Was wondering if I should change rings on it yet? Its life has been fairly easy, technical trails, low speeds, its my first bike. Manual seems to be for "race" individuals with its maintanance intervals. And since there is not much winter here in lower elevations I think I wont be shelving it for the winter.

Thanks for any wisdom in advance.

...im no expert, but like you said, the manual doesnt really cater for hobby riders. with my previous bikes, i'd just pull the head and barrel every few months and check the tollerances. thats probably your best bet

From my personal experience, and the fact that your bike has had an easy life so far, I would say you've got another season left in her before you need to replace the rings.

Others will probably disagree, but that's my 2 cents.

Wouldn't hurt to check....and rings are cheap if you are already in there.
