kx100 Rear shock adjusting screw broken

Recommended Posts

I just picked up a 2001 kx100 for my son. It came from a hard life of 18-25 year old guys riding it. first thing he started it up tells me it runs good and right away I know the crank is gone. SO I am taking everything apart its been fun these guys have a lot of bronze and little brains they over tightened most all the bolts striped them. My question is I have taken the rear shock apart and the I believe its the rebound screw the center straight screw at the top of the shock just spins when I try to back it out or tighten it up. By some stroke of luck did they not over tighten and brake this screw also? Am I going to have to buy a new upper shock? Could this be right

I think ur talking about the compression adjuster. It has only 4 positions and will continually spin around. It sounds ok

Karlace is right.

The comp adjuster for the KX85/100.... when the dot is pointed @ 12 oclock, this is the Softest comp setting. 3 o'clock, 1/3 firmer, 6 o'clock, 2/3 firmer, 9 o'clock, FIRMEST setting.
