I disagree. I've had one for 2 years and it still works great. I always use a battery tender for my bikes and I've not had any problems.

You must have got a good one. Even the customer service guy at Rocky Mountain ATVMC said they were junk.

Note that lithium ion batteries, like TurnTech and Shorai, hold their charge much longer than lead acid batteries and as such rarely require a Battery Tender boost.

But if you do let them get low, than crank and crank trying to get it to start they can melt their case. Also have to be careful about your bikes charging system or you home charger voltage.

My daughter melted her Trugel scooter battery last night. She had it on a charger 12V/2A setting and it melted it. Fortunately it has a warranty and the dealer has already ordered me a new one. I'm getting her a battery tender and I will conduct some training. Hopefully this prevents future meltdowns.

Check out www.Impactbattery.com they have a AGM 130cc 2yr. warranty batt for a 450x $58-inc. shipping that will work much better that the stock battery. I have one in my 250x and it works great. www.batterystuff.com has the same thing with a 1yr. warranty for $47.00

Guys I am a huge fan of the turntech battery. .9 pounds as compared to 3.5 stock battery.

I drowned my bike this year on a ride and had to pull the plug to get the water out. I tell you I cranked that thing to death and was amazed at the power of that little battery. I do not know the other batteries but I bought this at Brap off road and the guy could not be more helpful.
