XR200 Mods.

Recommended Posts

So i have a 2001 xr200 motor in great con.

I have a 1990 frame.

I have 1985 seat and tank, guards, and swing arm.

Now I need some suspension.

I can get a rear shock and front shocks form a 1984 xr200 for a good price.

Although I am wondering wether they are gona be good enough.( Even if i do rebuild them).

I have my eye on the following:

Cr125 upside down front forks with complete front end.(disc Brake:thumbsup:) 43mm chrome.

A 1985 XR250RE rear shock.

I will be using it around the farm although want it to be fairy well spring as when I ride I ride fast and do drop offs ect.

I have a crf250 so I wont be doing any huge jumps on the xr.

So what should i get??

Its gona cost around an extra $50 for the upside downs and xr250 rear shock.

Please leave a photo of your project if it is similar.

All 84-85 XR200R/250R parts will fit the 90 chassis (except the engines). The shocks are the same length and have the reservoir and clickers like the 90. The 84-85 XR200R forks are the same as the 86-91 XR200R forks (minor part number differences on springs and damper rod). I just finished building a 200 using spare parts and ended up with a 84 XR250R front end on a 90 XR200R, simple bolt on.
