Exhaust pipe is spitting oil around the exhaust flange from the cylinder head

Recommended Posts

I recently bought a 2000 CR 125 and rebuilt the top end. When I did so I noticed a slippery suit around the exhaust on the cylinder head and the exhaust pipe near the cylinder head (of coarse I cleaned it up)... After the rebuild the bike started up with one kick but seems to be running rich. A lot of smoke and bogs when you hit the throttle. Eventually it hits and seems to have good power... I can fix that with new jets. But my question is; I noticed what looks like half burnt 32/1 gas/oil mix spitting all over the front of the cylinder from the exhaust. Can the bike be running that rich?

The stock '00 CR125 jetting is very rich. Try a 340 main jet with a 40 pilot jet. That should clear up most of the spooge.
