Todo list after rebuild?

Recommended Posts

I have a question I I stripped part of the bike apart after my rebuild. After the rebuild I rode 7.5 hours. I'm changing oil filter, oil, checked valves to spec (no changes - all fine there) and I heard I might need to torque the head bolts.. is that correct?

Anything else needed to be done after the rebuild?

Tks

Yes, definitely check head bolts torque and cylinder base bolts. The head and base gasket will settle a little as it runs and relieve some of the torque. In the future I would check them sooner than 7.5 hours, maybe after the first few rides.

Interesting. Did you use a torque wrench? I believe you, but that's the certainly odd...

Well, make sure when you put it on, you go in a star pattern; tightening bolts opposite each other. Also tighten them in steps, like say if it is 20 Nm, then do like all of them to 10, then 20 or 5, 10, 20.
