06 KYB SSS Forks - adding oil

Recommended Posts

Shortly after rebuilding my forks some dirt got into the quick air bleeders that I put on them, causing an oil leak. I really don't want to take the forks apart again just to add more oil to the inner chambers.

Would it be possible to use a syringe to add 5cc's of oil at a time through the bleeder hole until the forks feel again?

i used those quick air bleeders.

its not the dirt that gets stuck, its the fork pressures that appear to blow the oil through them.

i switched back to the screws.

and yes, adding a little oil should be fine.

That's even worse, you'd think they would design those things with fork pressure in mind. I guess not.

Thanks for the reply!

maybe there are good ones out there. but one of the two that i had, had troubles. i had to do the same thing as you but i took the forks off and measured the oil height.

i spoke to the local suspension tuner at the track that day and he held them in low regard too. they are known to suck and blow air on big hits.
