Recommended Posts

Just got off the phone with kientech, they dont make a fuel screw for the klr650 (what my cvk40 came off of) so they have no idea.

No dice. I pulled my cvk fuel screw out last night and compared it agianst the kientech screw, The threads are way off and the needle profile is much different.

Keihin cvk40 is an upgrade from the stock Mikuni Bsr..,but it would take roughly a 42-44 cv carb to flow what a 39mm fcr does..

Throttle response is still better on the Fcr , your wrist is operating the slide and not relying on Vacuum ,as with the cvk..

I have just purchased one off ebay that has been all fully jetted to spec and new diaphram and slides and goodies installed for $150 delivered. I thought this was a good enough price to install and run with for a while to see what the differences are between stock and upgrade as the jetting for the stock carby would have been close to this cost.

A jetted CVK is much better than a tuned BSR, your mileage may suffer but your smile won't.
