Fuel mixed with oil

Recommended Posts

Hi

some years has passed from my last thread on this forum

However, I'm writing to ask if anybody has experienced any sort of problem like fuel in the engine oil for the 2010 crf 250 r.

Last sunday me and my team found oil level in the engine side very high and very low viscosity, besides in the clutch side the oil level was ok.

So I'm sure it was fuel mixed with oil.

I'm going to make some tricks to the bike to solve this problem which worn out a BRAND NEW piston in 4,5 hours of engine running time !!! :ride:

Somebody told me it is a more common problem with cold weather.

Does anybody solved this problem ??

Thank you very much !!

The cause is usually leaving the petcock on and transporting the bike.

But the float in the carb can leak anytime so you should always close the petcock as soon as you shut off the engine.

You should also confirm the float height is correct.

The injector is leaking into the cylinder and past the piston rings into the oil. To stop this kick the engine slowly until you hear a loud click. That means the engine is at TDC, all the valves are closed, and no fuel can get into the cylinder.

Then the intake ports will fill up with raw fuel. The injector will still need to be replaced.
