Try speed and sport. Looks like they have the piston still availible the rings no luck but give them a call they might.

The bore is right.

If it fits dt 250 models from 74-79 shouldn't an oem piston from a later model dt also fit your bike. I know the 75 model is a completely different looking engine from a 74 but maybe the internals are similar. They have the same bore and stroke. It looks like wiseco still makes a std. bore piston.

Check on yamahaenduro.com it is a great site for collectors of the old enduros. You can even buy some parts on endurobay. The members are very helpful.

thanks for all the info! picked this bike up last week for $100 bill with clear title. not a scratch on it but the piston was cracked. kinda miss riding the old yamahas!

Back in the 80's I ran a 78 DT250 all over the Philipines. Whoha! I was like a pig in mud! Hmmm, on 2nd thot, I WAS a pig in mud!

well after closer inspection i'm going to need more than a piston. rod bearings shot too. Need an engine!

Try NW Vintage they have 7 std pistons. Probably have the rod and bearings

but I didn't search for them

Are you sure the bore doesn't need done? if the Piston and Rod is gone I would

think there would be enough wear for an overbore. What is the bore diameter?

well bought a engine. turned out to be a 72. so if anyone needs a 72 or 73 dt 250 engine let me know! i'm still looking for a 74
