sanding damper rod assembly?

on the damper rod assembly where the spring seat slides i have a small groove the spring seat woare into it a little. would it be ok to take a peice of emry cloth to it and clean it up some or does the rod have a special coating ofit? its on an 06 crf250r

if its the large outer tube then its normal for a bit of wear there, not the smaller 12mm rod?

they do rub a bit , it serves no purpose to sand it however.

I just wanted to sand the burs off so I could get the spring seat off and clean it up a bit as shown in the dogger thread

yes remove the burs but not material

thats what i did. i am all done with my first trial stack. the shock feels nice. not so sure about the forks they seem to wallow a little if i come into a hole. i am going to add some more oil and see if i can stiffen up the entire range a little to take the wallowing out of it right now im only running it at 325 with 5 wt. oil if i dont like it im going to pull my mid and change it a little.right now it has. 3 float i will bring it back down to .2
