what air filter is best??

hi all, i am currently running a k@n filter in my 07 wr an im not too happy with it!! what i want to know is what you recon is the best filter out there for riding in gravel loose soil types, along the beach an in desert type surroundings??

the k@n does not sit well inside the air box and it doesn't make a good seal against it!! to get it in or out the airbox is a mission alone!!!!!!

i run this filter on my 505 and love it also, twice the surface area of a stock twin air, rubber seal that fits really well on the air intake. the ktm racing team over here run the on the finke desert race and other long challenging races, i think it was 30 odd bucks posted to my door:thumbsup:

You get what you pay for......Pick any foam air filter you can afford. I have found that the Low end ones do not last as long as high end.

Two part filters are the best... and the fact that the two pieces of the UNI filters aren't glued together, IMO, makes the cleaning process a tad bit easier and more likely to get all the dirt out .

Any major brand foam filter will be fine. I have found that PC racing filter skins work great as a supplement. If you put one of them on over the filter each time you ride, you can greatly extend your filter cleaning intervals. Filter skins will keep you filter looking just-cleaned on even very dusty days, although you might need to swap the skin out. They will clog if you try to run a 2-3 hour HS, but for just trail riding, they are awesome.

I picked up 2 of the cheap $9 Pro filters and after 2 cleanings the outer filter is already ripping in places.....I have Twin Air filters that lasted 10 years.

and no-toil.....best combo out there!

No toil oil ate my uni filter in two cleanings, the twin air lasted over a year, and so far the no toil filters have been going strong. That being said id recommend twin air or the no toil filters
