xr 400 USD conversion or revalve??

So i've recently picked up this old xr because the motor is so freakin cool, but the suspension is a JOKE! To buy the Emig triple clamps:worthy:, crf forks and wheel is going to push a grand. Should I just have the stock forks worked instead? Trying to modify crf triples isn't really an option for me. I'm not a welder and I don't want to fool with chasing around to save a couple hundred, I want to go ride

do you have a specific suggestion? This is the first bike I've owned with old school conventional forks, never done anything but different springs in usd forks. I'm used to forks that work better the faster you go, this thing is scary past third gear. Try to hit any kind of jump and the front just bottoms and the back feels like it's gonna hit you in the back of the head. Grateful for any and all advice
