What year did they change the fuel screw on the FCRs?

I've got an 04 YZF, and I found an aftermarket fuel screw in my tool box, that I believe was from back when I had my '05. I know my '05 had an extra jet in the intake bell that my '04 doesn't have.

So I'm wondering, I know at some point they changed the FCR carbs a bit, and they changed the fuel screw tip length. Does anyone remember what year that was??

I do not believe that they have changed the fuel screw in the FCRs since 2001. If you go to zip ty racings web site They have one screw that fits just about all of the carbs. They do exclude some KTMs and quads. As for yzfs I put the same screws in the 01 all the way up to the new bikes. You can always go to the Thumpertalk store and look at the parts fitch for your bike and the screw that you have to see if they are the same stock part number.

The fuel screw you found should work. However, if it is an alloy one, I would not use it instead source one that is Brase or Stainless.

Carb change was from the early slant styler FCR with three screws on the float bowl to the MX variant with four screws on the float bowl.
