Baja Designs HID kit

Has anyone tried out this kit yet? It comes with the DC conversion kit and upgrades the headlight to HID.

Also, if you have tried it, is it still street legal?

I got the B.D light just over a year now works really good will say the d.c conversion is lame you have to jump a wire on the stator and there is

If I did it again KTM HID, PLUG AND PLAY=NO HASSLE costs more but its clean and a no brainer install just my opinion. 530 exc 2010

Do you have a link or something? I can't find anything on KTM's web site.

looks like a nice light- but just buy the trail tech stator upgrade. the stock system of ac and dc is nuts. the stock system barely works. If you add a fan or bigger light you will kill the battery if your rpm are low when riding.

discofever daveg got it right that is what I have. got the stator from ktm dealer, turns out trail tech makes it for ktm. ktm also has hid its the x2. I am very happy with the bd hid light and the trail tech stator sorry bout the confusion

What the hell is the rectifier? Is that changing the electrical from A/C to D/C?

A rectifier turns the ac current from you alternator to dc voltage. Battery voltage=dc house power =ac.

if you turn your key on- and you head light comes on with you motor off, It dc. If it only come on when you start the motor it is ac.

The reason behind jump a wire on the stator is to combine both outputs together so that all the voltage goes goes the new rectifier/regulator. The other reason behind splicing the jumper harness into the stock electrical harness is so that the stock handle bar control switch can see DC power.

BD hid conversion is a proven high quality kit. The ebay/cheap kits are lower quality ballast and bulbs. Not a matter of if it will quit working but when? Usually when you need it the most.
