wrecked klx 400, how much?

I have a friend that wrecked his klx on the road a couple weeks ago(I was there and saw the whole incident) now he is thinking about selling his bike. It needs a speedometer, front master cylinder, and tail section. It is in decent shape with no mechanical issues, what do you think the bike is worth in it's current condition?

specs: 2004 klx400s 7k miles, fmf slip on

What kind of wreck? Impact with a fixed/moving object, or High Side, Low Side...etc

+1..It's hard give an evaluation of a crashed bike with out a physical viewing assessment .....

Probably the best way of disposal would be to sell it as spares.....

Flipped back on a wheelie doing 50 on a straight stretch of road, bike did a cartwheel and slid on it's side to a stop.

Well if he sells, I will probably buy it that was the whole reason for the thread. If he wants more than $2000 I'm not going to buy it though, I'll keep you in mind if I don't get it.

Have to say, I concur with the Judge. Assuming the engine is good on that bike, it is about a $1,000 bike or less. Of course no pics, so no way to give a better Est. But from experience, that’s the best he should hope for.

Well I offered him $1200 and he seems to be pretty interested in letting it go for that, so hopefully that's all it is.
