Renthal Twin Ring or Ultralight or other

Recommended Posts

Changing gearing. Obviously the twin ring is bombproof. I like the lighter and anodized ultralight though. How has the aluminum ultralight performed for those who have used it?

I've already got a Moose front sprocket. I'd be interested in opinions on their rear sprockets too. And others.

Thanks.

Have done some reading....aluminum = bling but doesn't seem to last. The pros ride it, but they can replace it as needed. So I'm, leaning toward MSR 520 Ironman. I've read it is very durable and no more than 10 ounces over aluminum! I know that in the store, the TwinRing weighed alot more than aluminum, so I'm thinking with the MSR, I'll get excellent durability plus lose a little weight off the bike.

Anyone know the weight difference between stock and aluminum or stock and Ironman?

Not sure what your bike came stock with but mine came with Suntour Aluminum. I bought a second 51t brand new of ebay for $10. Been very happy with Suntour.
