cr500 won't idle after installing new stock reeds and top-end

Recommended Posts

Hey Guys,

Is there any special attention i should give when installing a new set of stock reed valves on my old Reed cage? I noticed that in the Service manual they mentioned a "reed valve clearance", and the mentioned a "clearance: 0.2 mm".

How do I check or measure this?

After installation, i was able to start up the bike fine but I noticed that the it was very hard to get it to idle. Now it starts but then once it warms up and I let go the throttle it dies and I can't start back up. :banghead

Any advice or suggestions appreciated.

thanks,
