Adjusting Kickstarter

Ok here is a dump one for you guys. The bike is a 02 CR250R. I just got done powder coating my engine and doing my main bearings, sleeve and piston. I was putting the pipe on today and noticed that my kickstarter is hitting the pipe I tried taking it off and adjusting it to no avail. One tooth either way is to much. Does this mean that I have to take the clutch side apart again and adjust the mechanism to clear the pipe? Is there a way to do this correctly? I have done this on plenty of bikes and not had this issue. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Your kickstart gear/spring is in the wrong position. I have had this same problem before. Pull off your right side engine cover, and re-install your kickstart spring, there are some marks inside there that help you line it up. Get that in the right position and you will be good to go!

I dove into the bike this weekend and fixed the kick starter. That would have drove me nuts. Thanks TT!
