oil/crank seal question

Recommended Posts

I need the seal that goes behind the stator. Is that a crank or oil seal. I'd normally call it a crank seal but i've seen it labeled as different things in diagrams. Also its a lifan 110cc.

it will be a crank seal, or stator seal.

I would tend to think it is more of an oil seal, a crank seal in the strictest sense of the word is for two-stroke engines to keep the trans oil OUT of the lower rod bearing area. In this instance, it is used to prevent engine oil from leaking out onto the stator windings.

The Honda microfiche lists it as: OIL SEAL (18.9X30X5)
