sub frame question

The riv nut on the right side of the sub frame that holds the lower portion of my number plate has come out. I have tried to fill it will liquid steel and the helicoil it. Well the helicoil has came loose and you can see the liquid steel is loosing up. I was seeing what others have done that have come across this problem. I did not know if it would hurt the strength of the sub frame to drill through and put a nut on the other side. If anybody has some suggestions on what they have done it would be greatly appreciated.

If you know anybody with a tig that would be the best way to fix it. You could drill it out and tap for an 8 mm bolt, thread that in until it tightens up against the other side. Then drill and tip that to accept the 6mm bolt for your plastic.

Maybe a new rivnut can be installed? Or is the hole too big now?

Hole probably too big now.

I have the same problem and have yet to find a good fix that doesn't involve welding up the hole.

Really wish I had a TIG sometimes.

I did the well nut it looks like it is going to hold I'm racing tomorrow so we shall see.
