98 rm250?

Recommended Posts

ive been over in the yamaha forum for a while and i saw an ad on craigslist that a guy is looking to trade his 98 rm250 that looks to be in decent shape for a 125. i have a 2002 yz125 thats worth a little more then what he's asking for his bike but im interested in a 250. what are the good an bad things about these 98's? my 125 has a bunch of work done to it just want to see if i should keep my 125 or go up to a bigger bike.

The 98s were a little down on power compared to the competition, but they're some real sweet handling bikes. The conventional twin-chamber Showa forks are some of the best out there IMO.

While I love 125s and question the trade, your 125 should bring a few hundred more $s than the RM based on the 4 year age difference.
