Honda '87 350 Fourtrax Foreman CDI keeps dying?

Recommended Posts

Like the title says I've replaced the CDI twice since I bought this thing and the previous owner replaced it at least once. What keeps killing this CDI?

Before I shell out the cash for another one I'd like to find the culprit. Or is it just bad luck on my part with this quad...

Test your voltage regulator/rectifier and make sure the stator is not putting out too much power.

Got my new CDI but either I ordered the wrong one or they sent the wrong one. Either way I plugged it in and still got a no start situation. I recharged the battery to make sure I had enough juice for the fuel pump and checked to make sure fuel was getting to the carb. Still no joy...

I'll send the CDI back and get the right one and hopefully get this thing running again.

I'll also check the rectifier when I do get it running, Thanks for the tip.
