rear shock gas reservoir advantage ?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I have a 1988 Yamaha T200r which I ride on trails here, the rear shock is ready for rebuild /replacement as damping is gone . There are no competent rebuilders on the island, so I am looking at NOS replacement from a DT125 which are common in the UK and I can get one cheap sent here, there are no 200s in UK . The 125 is identical in every respect except engine bore/stroke and the monoshock does not have a remote gas reservoir - does the reservoir make a big difference ? should I rebuild the original or use the 125 one ?

Bob
