Stupid question of the day: 2007 RMZ250 hoses and cold start ?s

Recommended Posts

i'm a total newb when it comes to 4 stroke dirt bikes, but i was checking out a 2007 RMZ250 to possibly buy, and there are hoses that appear to originate from carb (or that area) and just exit (open-ended) at the bottom of the bike near the rear linkage. i was told they are overflow lines....this true?

secondly, when the bike was cold started, the area where the exhaust pipe comes out of the motor was smoking/steaming. i think it was steaming because i didn't smell burnt fuel. i know the 4strokes idling will heat up pretty fast, and maybe this was some water condensation vaporizing. is what i observed reasonable?

thanks:worthy:

Yes those are just over flow and vent tubes there suspost to be open ended like that

Take a good close look at where the steem/smoke is coming from

If this is Neil and I think it is the steam is burning of the exhaust pipe from the clear coat I sprayed on the bike. If you are still looking give me a call .

As stated some guys spray silicone all over bike for rust etc/ or even some spray WD40 etc for same reason. Nothing serious IF not smoke
