'08 vs. '11 TXC 250

Recommended Posts

I've been riding my '08 TXC for a few months now and just don't really like the suspension. I have had it revalved by a local tuner that is not too familiar with Marzocci with very minimal gains. I'm considering a few options now...

1. sell it and buy a KTM 250exc

2. send the suspension out to LT Racing to have it revalved again

3. Trade it in for a '11 model with cushy Jap suspension

I paid just over 4,000 out the door 2 months ago for this brand new bike. I know where there is an '11 model right now for 5,000 with 2 hours on it and it seems kinda tempting to sell the '08 and get the '11.

Sooo.... if I were to go that route, does the '11 have any more bottom end than the carb. model '08?. That was the other issue I had with the bike...soft on the bottom.

Any issues with the fuel injection on the '11?

if you like the rest of the bike don't let the susp ruin it, it can be fixed

08 has more bottom end lug and chug than the 11,

your resale loss and the overpricing of the ktm would be a expensive swap

Take it back to the dude that did it and tell him you are not happy. Most every good suspension guy will redo work you are unsatisfied with. If that does not work LTR or House of Horsepower are very good at that stuff. As for soft power the 310 kit is available for that bike and make a noticeable difference. You would still be far ahead $$$ wise over a new KTM.
