hey guys, i picked up a mint 89 cr 250 this weekend and it was runnin great but about 2 hours into my ride i stopped and noticed gas leakin outta my overflow so i went back changed the floats becuase i assumed they were stuck or not working properly and it still did it once re assembled. any ideas?

float needle. If it has the spring loaded needle i have had two go bad in the last year.

is that the piece that is attched to the floats by a small clip?

Is the float set at the proper height?

i wasnt sure what the right height was but it was put in exactly as the old ones came out il have to read my owners manual

16mm float height. I'd look at the float needle/seat. Could be a knick in it and or bAd seat. Even a bad plunger on float needle.

Try the float needle and set the height to 16mm. The seat is not replaceable, so if it keeps up you need a new carb. Same thing happened on my 85. Stay away from used Keihins IMO.

well if i find this one un repairable then im gonna spend the 250 on a newer model keihin newer than the pj

Hopefully you can fix it. If not go for an Airstryker 38. They are less than 200 from Sudco, I think.
