Burning gear oil

Recommended Posts

I have been noticing too much smoke and have determined (based on having to add gear oil twice after two 25 mile rides) that the right side crank case seal must be leaking :busted:.

I would like to do this and was wondering if anybody had step by step proceedure with photos or a manual snapshot. I think I would only need the two gaskets along with the seal and o-ring.

Any help is appreciated.

I watched a couple of youtube videos and know how to get to the seal. The question is, how do you get that sucker out? In the video I saw, the guy was doing the bottom end and split the cases popping the seal out from the inside of the case.

Check you local auto parts store for a seal puller. You'll trash the old one taking it out of course. Here is a link to a photo of one.
