Quick fork question

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, front suspension question, it's on 93 cr125. Okay this whats up; when you go to push down on the front to compress forks they are kinda like stuck, but after the initial compress its fine. That is until you let set for a few seconds, then it's the same thing over again. Everything seems to okay when riding thou. We put new seals n fork oil 2 months ago. Recently began doing this over the last week.

Over-torqued pinch clamp bolts on the lower triple, or forks might be misaligned. Either of those will cause them to bind.

Your seals are new, they are very sticky at this point and will break in, if your springs are very light or sacked, it exaggerates this, as does worn components as was mentioned. Front wheel installation method is important to fork alignment. You want to hold the front brakes and pump the suspension before securing the right fork lug bolts to allow the lug to find it's happy place on the axle. Some people spin the axle and hold the nut while installing which requires a special tool.
