swiching r exhaust on to a x

Recommended Posts

Actually you can , if you have a wire feed welder , as all that is different is the mid-pipe mounting nut is about 1/4" off , if you drill it out and stick a new nut about 1/4" towards the front of the pipe(towards the engine) (just set the pipe up and mark the center of the hole where the mid-pipe bolts to the frame) , then weld the nut in that location and it will fit , i have a 06 R pipe on my 06 450X

X headers give better low end, but make the bike snatchy and surgy.

R pipe will move power up and eliminate snatching a lot

There should be no snatch or surge with any header. That is jetting and apump settings. I have the longest header you can buy, the Dr D set up, and there is no power band or throttle response issues with my bike, ever.
