My grandson is in the Air Force, just moved to Hawaii with his almost new (600 Miles) 690 Duke. Now, it seems that the 2010 Duke will die and not restart. He rode it around for several hours, start/stop and then, on one occasion he started it and then it died. 2 hours later, when his wife came to get him, it started right up. This is the 2nd time this has happened and he has no KTM dealer in Hawaii and has had no success trouble shooting this issue.

Any websites or help would be appreicated.

Grandpa Moose: I would suspect a fuel issue which can come in several flavors, but usually stems from dirt/debris in the fuel line or petcock and/or migration to the injection system.

There may also be a problem with the fuel injection system itself.

Start with the easy stuff first. Remove the tank, get a gas can and use a makeshift screen of some sort (paper towel or coffee filter held by rubber bands/tie-wraps (etc)) and pour the tank gas into the can through the filter. If there is evidence of something other than gas, that could be the culprit.

You can search and seek answers here as well as on other forums.
