Can I remove the battery from a KTM 2009 xcw 300?

Recommended Posts

I have disconnected the superfluous (and worthless) starter.

Now I have plans for the space that my battery takes up.

Can you say goodbye fender bag, hello spare tube and spoons in the box?

Can I just remove the battery?

Or do I need to install a capacitor, condensor or something?

My road race engine tuner said on certain engine configurations, sometimes you can fry a stator if the battery is removed.

What about the KTM 300cc 2-stroke?

One rider posted that he had done this mod without ill effects.

I have race next weekend and would like to make the change.

I'm no technical guru, so I need advice.

In small words if possible...

Thanks for your help.
