Please school me on my TE 570's oiling system

Recommended Posts

I'm curious as to how my oil gets from the transmission to the valve-train on my 02 TE570 and I'm wondering if someone could talk me through it.

Assuming there isn't an oil pump what precautions should I take in the colder weather? I typically "warm" my bikes up before I get into the throttle much how long should I wait to start hitting WOT with this motor after a cold start-up? Right now I have it topped off with the Ams-oil 10W-40 Motorcycle formula mostly because I couldn't find anything in the 5w-40 blend that the manual recommended...

Thanks for any help

TE570 has a an oil pump. Single cam engine got one in 2000 or 2001. My 2001 TE400 had one, my '93 WXC350 doesn't. Warm it up like any other engine.
