California Moonrocks - Firewood?

Recommended Posts

I am headed to Moonrocks for T-Day. Driving from the Bay Area and I don't want to haul all my firewood, anyone know if there is a place to buy or harvest firewood close by?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

JW

There is a place on sunshine lane that sells firewood cut and split. Don't know the cost.

Please don't harvest the sage or junipers, as they are the only things holding the soil from blowing off to the Nightengale Range or Pyramid lake.

Yes, Craigslist. I did look there and found some places. I was just hoping for a super secret riders recommendation. Craigslist does yield some (expensive) results.

"Do not harvest Sage or Junipers", understood.

OK, thanks for the responses. We are going to haul a bunch and then fall back on Craigslist if necessary.

Thanks and happy Thanksgiving.

Never thought about the soil erosion. Good thinkin.

Just askin, but do the branches of the burnt sage knock sand back to the ground or is it just the root balls that keep the soil in place?

Take out the dead wood, never cut green wood.

Most of the old desert rats hate the juniper and the mahagony, it is an invasive species.
