Shifting

easy mate pin it flat then when you go to shift let off the throttle and give it a nice clean hard click up just dont half ass it

ye just let of the gas and it's fine, up and down, done this on all my bikes and neveer had any gearbox trouble

As said above, shifting without the clutch is done by slightly backing off the throttle. Usually its not much of a back-off, just a quick wick and blamo you're in the next gear. Sometimes on my 125, I shift so much coming out of a corner that I'll just keep slipping the clutch to generate drive and change gears during that process. Its much easier to shift without the clutch on a 2 stroke because there isn't much back torque from the motor. But on a 4 stroke, the gearboxes are a bit more notchy and it takes some abuse to get them in to gear. Once you abuse the tranny, it will be easier and easier to shift because the dog ears wear down.

Dirt bikes have a constant mesh transmission. You can shit up or down as long as you are not on the throttle
