Frame "restoration"

Recommended Posts

To me an '09 is BRAND new:smirk:

I'm not sure, but if it's aluminum it will probably be anodized or clear coated. Either one will be a little difficult to match without stripping the whole thing and re-treating it. You could always get it powder coated.

I used lots of Mother's metal polish and lots of elbow grease. I usually do this when I'm bored, and have nothing better to do!

Gives it a nice mirror shine.

if you want it to have the original look of the factory get a box of s.o.s pads and water and scrub it down real good if its dirty or stained from dirt...then get some of the green scotch brite and go over it while dry...the scotch brite will make it look just like the day you got it

if the frames fairly clean you can skip step 1 and just do the scotch brite, works everytime

if you want a polished "chrome" look use the sos pads and then mothers polish like mentioned above, looks really good until you ride it then the shine quickly goes away
