xr250 RFVC head on a XR 200 RFVC cylinder anyone done this?

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

Just wondering if anyone has done a xr 250 RFVC head onto a RFVC 200 cylinder before and how much trouble it was.

i.e. was there a lot of modifying?

did it pretty much bolt on?

camchain issues?

which headgasket did you use?

basegasket is the same part number, that I know.

Thanks in advance guys! This is an awesome board:thumbsup::lol::thumbsup:

The Combustion chamber and squishband will be too big. You might could go the other way though. A XR200 Head on the XR250 but that would boost compression and cause more overheating in a poor design. We are talking about the 1984-85 engines. I don't know if you could put a single carb head on the RFVC XR200.

The 84-85 motors were short stroke/big bore, there was a bore/stroke change in 86. There has been some posts in the 250 forum about what years RFVC heads/cylinders interchange.
